Heart disease is the number one cause of death in Wisconsin. Much of the health and economic burden of cardiovascular disease can be prevented and controlled through increased physical activity, maintaining a healthy body weight and eating a healthy diet.
National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
February 7, 2010 is the tenth anniversary of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD). This HIV/AIDS awareness day is dedicated to mobilization efforts by the African American community to encourage community members to undergo HIV testing in order to know their HIV status, increase greater community mobilization surrounding HIV-related issues, and increase the number of persons being treated who are newly diagnosed or living with HIV.
